Patch notes

What's new in Gita

Every published version of the self-hosted chart, newest first. The panel links here when an update is available; upgrading keeps your data and settings.

Preview releases. Gita v5 is under evaluation and these versions are not approved for production. To upgrade an installation, run helm upgrade gita oci://registry.gitlab.com/gita-public/releases/charts/gita --version <new version> -n gita --reset-then-reuse-values --wait.

Invite links, cluster registration and update checks

New

  • Invite links. Organization owners and admins can create invite links that are not tied to an email, with an expiry of up to 24 hours and single, limited or unlimited use. Links are listed and revoked from the cluster Users page.
  • Register clusters from the panel. Connecting a cluster now takes three steps: the central installation registers the cluster and its agent token itself, with no Secret edits, helm upgrade or restart.
  • Update checks. Installations of the published chart look for newer versions in the registry they came from, in their own channel, and the panel links to these patch notes.
  • Outdated agents. Agents report their chart version, and the top bar, the home cluster cards and the command palette flag agents that are behind, with the helm upgrade command to run.
  • Cluster settings. Settings has one entry with General, Installation and Users, plus guides to uninstall an agent or a self-hosted installation and to add a new self-hosted installation.
  • One install for everything. Incidents, recommendations, resource actions and terminals are on by default and can each be turned off.
  • First account without a bootstrap code. The first sign-up within 15 minutes of the API starting becomes the administrator.
  • Images are published for both amd64 and arm64.

Fixes

  • Crash looping containers keep one incident open across restarts instead of reopening it on every backoff cycle.
  • The panel no longer keeps the page of a previous deploy after an upgrade.
  • Audit identities created before a role rename are bound again instead of failing the first sign-in.
v0.1.0-beta.22

First public preview build

The first Gita v5 preview published from the release pipeline. It is an evaluation build and is not approved for production.

New

  • Images and the Helm chart are published to a public registry, so a cluster installs Gita with a single helm command and no pull secret.
  • The panel's install guides use the published chart and the environment of the installation instead of a repository checkout.
